AIMOLI groundwater samplers are used as enforcement instruments by the National Center for Analysis and Testing under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, as well as by relevant departments in 28 provinces and cities.
Today, passing through Changzhou, I recalled my last visit—four years ago—when the Changzhou Ecological Environment Center purchased our AIMOLI groundwater samplers. My colleagues and I came to provide on-site training and demonstration.
At that time, the clients were quite pressed for time due to their busy daily schedules. As a result, although the samplers had been delivered, they had not yet allocated time for training.
For some unknown reason, they suddenly notified us that training must take place on Monday. Upon receiving the notice, we immediately began preparing relevant materials and, to ensure excellent service, my colleagues and I arrived in Changzhou a day in advance.
Typically, clients check the equipment list and inspect the instruments upon receiving our AIMOLI groundwater samplers. However, since their staff had previous experience with AIMOLI samplers and trusted us completely, they simply stored the equipment at the center upon delivery.
Considering that the samplers had been delivered for some time, even though they had not been powered on, some battery depletion was inevitable. To ensure the training would go smoothly, we contacted the center’s supervisor on Sunday and arranged for personnel to assist with charging the samplers.
On Monday morning, shortly after 8 a.m., we arrived early on site and selected a nearby monitoring well for the sampling training demonstration.
The training demonstration was divided into three main steps:
1. Measuring Well Depth and Water Level
Our AIMOLI three-parameter groundwater probe can measure well depth and water level in a single deployment, replacing three instruments—unique in the industry. However, since they had purchased a different version, these measurements were done separately. The well depth measured 63 meters, with a water level of 18 meters.
2. Well Flushing and Sampling Training
For well flushing, we used our AML918D high-flow submersible pump, with a standard lift of 70 meters; it is also used by clients with wells up to 300 meters deep. Once powered on at the site, water flowed through the pipe within seconds, with impressive strength. The clients were amazed, commenting that the flow was so strong it could even wash a car—they called it a “well flushing miracle.”
Sampling training began with the low-flow submersible pump, standard lift 90 meters, which can be customized according to actual conditions and easily connected with quick couplings for convenience.
Next, we used the AML919 bladder pump for groundwater sampling. The bladder pump delivers continuous water flow, surpassing imported devices, and ensures no volatilization loss or cross-contamination throughout the sampling process. The standard lift is 70 meters, with clients using it for wells as deep as 300 meters without any failures.
During the demonstration, the staff of the Environmental Monitoring Center were highly attentive, taking photos and carefully noting details in their notebooks.
3. Measurement
After the AML919 bladder pump sampling stabilized, we connected the AML916 six-parameter groundwater analyzer for measurement.
The AML916 produces rapid on-site readings and automatically determines whether well flushing is complete. It complies with HJ164 and HJ1019 standards and offers an additional turbidity and water level parameter compared to imported instruments. It comes with specialized groundwater analysis software and standard 1.5-meter and 30-meter composite cables with meter markings, suitable for in-situ monitoring in wells.
After completing the full demonstration and training, the clients were thoroughly impressed with the operation and performance of AIMOLI groundwater samplers. One staff member commented, “AIMOLI groundwater samplers are easy to operate right out of the box, highly efficient, and will definitely save us a lot of effort.”
