Overview of Groundwater Sampling Equipment Application Case:

To ensure that the monitoring of national-controlled groundwater drinking water source sites during the normal water level period was completed according to relevant technical requirements, and to improve the technical level of groundwater pilot monitoring, the Inner Mongolia Environmental Monitoring Center organized the “2022 Groundwater Environmental Monitoring Technology Training Course” on August 18, 2022.

AIMOLI was invited as the equipment provider for the training examination and participated in the event with its groundwater sampler. General Manager Qingguo Song personally introduced the background of groundwater sampling, on-site groundwater sampling technologies, and focused on explaining the types, advantages, and disadvantages of groundwater sampling equipment.

More than 90 experts and teachers participated in the training. Through theoretical training in the morning and practical sampling operations in the afternoon, the participants gave highly positive feedback on AIMOLI groundwater samplers. Their comments included: “Our domestic equipment is much easier to use than imported equipment. It is convenient, practical, and simple to operate. It greatly improves sampling efficiency. Most importantly, the price is affordable, and as a source factory manufacturer, after-sales service is no longer a concern.”

Technical Principles of Groundwater Sampling Equipment:

(1) The control system adopts AIMOLI’s proprietary ultra-high-pressure technology, meeting sampling requirements under different deep-water-level conditions.

(2) Remote control functions are available, including remote reset, remote sampling start, remote parameter modification, and remote extraction of sampling records. Sampling records can also be actively uploaded, and customized communication protocols can be provided according to user requirements.

(3) Multiple sampling modes can be achieved, including scheduled sampling, fixed-depth sampling, low-flow sampling, external-control sampling, and remote-start sampling.

(4) An environmentally friendly variable-frequency sampling pump with a portable design is adopted, improving portability and reducing labor requirements. The pump body ensures the accuracy of sample gas detection results and provides continuous gas sample detection capability.

(5) A shock-absorbing structure is designed. The vibration-damping reset components reduce shaking of the sampler body. These components have elastic expansion and contraction functions, helping restore stability and improving shock absorption performance.

(6) Hydrophobic materials are used as lens coatings to solve the scaling problem caused by long-term immersion of probes in high-hardness groundwater.

Application Scope of Groundwater Sampling Equipment:

  • Groundwater assessment sites with extremely poor water quality
  • Gas stations and underground oil tanks
  • Recharge runoff areas of rural drinking water sources
  • Urban centralized groundwater drinking water sources and their recharge areas
  • Groundwater pollution sources
  • National groundwater monitoring stations under the “National Groundwater Monitoring Project”

Engineering Demonstration and Application Cases of Groundwater Sampling Equipment:

1. Nuclear Industry No. 4 Institute in Northeast China

Director Wang and his team have long conducted groundwater testing in different regions. Their monitoring wells are more than 300 meters deep, making traditional manual bailer sampling impossible. They previously had to purchase expensive imported groundwater well development and sampling pumps.

The key technologies of imported equipment are not openly available to agents, and once equipment failures occur, the devices must be sent back overseas for repair. It usually takes at least 2-3 months before they can be repaired and returned. However, their work tasks must be completed on schedule and cannot be delayed due to equipment issues.

Director Wang found AIMOLI’s sampling pump through an online search. After communication, he confirmed that AIMOLI’s equipment could meet their project requirements. After all, achieving a 300-meter groundwater well development and sampling pump head capability is not something every manufacturer can provide.

2. Inner Mongolia Environmental Monitoring Center Groundwater Sampling Equipment Training

On May 26, 2022, the Inner Mongolia Environmental Monitoring Center and the Environmental Protection Bureau completed groundwater sampling equipment training using AIMOLI’s groundwater sampling system.

Near noon, AIMOLI demonstrated several products to the staff of the Inner Mongolia Environmental Monitoring Center:

  • AML918D groundwater high-flow well development pump, which integrates well development and sampling functions;
  • AML918 groundwater low-flow sampling pump, featuring low disturbance and no volatilization, complying with HJ164 monitoring technical specifications and the sampling technical guidelines implemented on September 1, 2019;
  • AML919 groundwater bladder pump;
  • AML916 multi-parameter water quality meter, which matches imported instruments with five parameters while additionally providing turbidity measurement.

The lightweight, portable, standard-compliant equipment and simple operation received frequent praise from the staff of the Inner Mongolia Environmental Monitoring Center. During the AML916 multi-parameter water quality meter testing process, the experts also highly recognized the speed and accuracy of AIMOLI’s monitoring data.

3. Guangzhou Ecological Environment Monitoring Station

Last year, the Guangzhou Ecological Environment Monitoring Station purchased an imported bladder pump groundwater sampler. Recently, sampling personnel frequently reported problems: the bladder pump stopped producing water at around 58 meters depth. With increasing sampling tasks, this issue required urgent attention.

Director Yang found AIMOLI’s website through Baidu search and contacted the company directly. After communication and understanding the application requirements, AIMOLI sent the equipment to the customer for field testing.

The final customer feedback was:

“AIMOLI groundwater samplers are much more convenient than imported instruments. They provide faster water output, real-time display of six parameters, intelligent reminders when water samples meet sampling requirements, and stable water output at 70 meters.”

Market Prospects of Groundwater Sampling Equipment:

The Chinese government attaches great importance to groundwater monitoring. Research on groundwater monitoring has been carried out since the late 1970s.
